At Home Hair Extension Care
After Care
-
Maintenance
*Get your extensions moved up every 6-9 weeks
*Extension coloring will fade. You will need to schedule color refresh appointments for your extensions to look their best.
*Brush in between your rows and the nape of your neck, these areas are more prone to tangling from turning your head
-
Washing
*I recommend washing your hair 1-2 times per week. Washing them too much will shorten their life.
*Brush out all tangles before getting into the shower
*Only use sulfate and paraben-free salon grade products- leave your conditioner in for 10 minutes
*Do not rub the ends of your hair together when washing, just allow your shampoo to rinse through them
-
Drying
*Gently squeeze out water with a cotton towel, do not rub your ends together with a towel
*Use a wet brush or wide tooth comb to brush through and then apply oil
*Use a round brush and section to dry
*NEVER sleep on wet extensions.
*It is best to always blow dry them.
-
Products
*You must use oil on your hair every time after you wash your hair as well as each night before bed. Your extensions do not receive natural oils like your natural hair so you must provide that for them.
*Always use a moisturizing conditioner or mask, and allow it to sit on for at least 10 minutes.
-
Sleeping
*Wear your hair in two pigtails, or a braid when sleeping using a scrunchie. I recommend using a silk pillowcase
*oil the mids to ends EVERY night
